About Us

Your personal cooking coach is Ellen Holub. Ellen has been a life-long foodie–forever thinking about the next meal and searching for the best ingredients. A self-taught baker who grew up in the wine country of Northern California, she got her first professional job baking shortly after graduating from the University of Washington. She worked as a baker and a pastry chef at Pacific Desserts, Brasa, and the Seattle Golf Club before returning to graduate school to get her teaching credentials. Ellen now works as a 4th grade teacher and pursues her food interests on the side. Her combination of teaching and cooking experience are sure to create a fun and educational experience!

From the moment we began the preparations for a birthday dinner I planned for my dear friend, until the time of putting everything together to entertain for the evening (appetizers, entree and crème brulee for the dessert) Ellen provided the advice, modeled techniques, provided excellent cooking tips and the how to's that helped me learn that putting a dinner together for friends can be a joyful experience even in a small imperfectly equipped kitchen. We had a wonderful time together and the dinner was a tremendous success. Ellen is at the top of my list as a chef & teacher!
